The staff was absolutely OUTSTANDING from start to end.

They were extremely accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Kristi did an amazing job keeping in touch with my husband and I, when we had changes that needed to be made, she was 100% on top of everything and was very helpful and personable. Girard was such a pleasure to work with, and the rest of the banquet room staff. Many of our guests were more than pleased and raved with how great the entire customer service was at the viscount. The banquet room was absolutely perfect and beautiful and we couldn't have dreamed of it being better. The dinner portions are insanely LARGE, and come full of flavour.

We stayed with our wedding party the night before the wedding, and our rooms were large and came with a fridge, microwave, and an ironing board. Something great that they provide is if you have forgotten anything they will be able to provide it to you free of charge such as razors, toothbrushes, and many other things (great for people who are traveling and may have forgotten). The night of our wedding my husband and I had robes waiting for us on our HUGE King size bed, not to mention the room was very spacious in size and they even included a late check out for us which was great. The only negative is that I did find was the rooms to be a little on the expensive side. We had a 'group' rate for the wedding but it didn't really change the price a whole lot. I think by providing the hotel with a minimum number of guests for the wedding, we could have had a lower price.

We cannot say enough about the customer service from everyone at the Viscount, they truly made our wedding day a fairy tale! If you are looking to get married this is THE PLACE to do it! You will not be disappointed at all. Jody started off our excellent stay with making sure we had shuttle tickets to the Bomber/Rider game. Thank you Jody. The bus ride home was extremely enjoyable because Scott (lounge manager) was catching a ride back. Scott is a great ambassador for the Viscount Gort but also a great ambassador for Winnipeg. Sue in the restaurant blew us away with recognizing us from our stay at the Viscount Gort 2 winters ago. Sue - your smile, attention and serving us (even though we were wearing Rider Green) just made our night (and the Rider win didn't hurt). Our room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. All the staff we encountered were happy and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better service.

The hotel has a pool with this awesome slide which curves around and around before entering the water. The hotel is basically across the street from Polo Park Shopping Center and is a few blocks (careful.Winnipeg city blocks are quite big.325 minute walk for me) from Assiniboine Park. There are several nice restaurants near the hotel but I was most impressed with the breakfast I had on my last morning there. They have a great special: eggs, hash browns, toast, juice, and coffee for under $4.00. I had this amazing mushroom/cheese omelet with toast and hash browns that filled me up until supper.
