Bear Archery Kodiaks 1950-1966. Over the years when I had questions about Bear bows. Two except glass color and serial number and in my collection there is.

This auction is for a vintage Bear Grizzly recurve bow. It is in very good condition. Some minor scuffs. But no cracks or delaminations. I have not attempted to recondition the bow in an way.

The bow is 58' and has a right handed draw of#48. It comes with a string, and I was able to shoot the bow, but it really should be replaced. I also included a new original string, bow string wax and apache quiver. Serial number 6P10688. Feel free to contact me with any questions or for additional pictures. The authentic silver colored coin. In laid in the center of the riser, is Bears true mark of tradition. There is also a star stamped into the riser by the model number.

The fine one of a kind woodgrain is protected by a beautiful soft finish. The arrow rests on the bow appears to be original and in good condition.

Due to the significant age of the bow. Although the woodgrain overall is in very nice condition as noted, the bow does show very some signs of wear, marks scratches etc. As the photographs show, it is in a beautiful preserved condition. This bow includes the gold Bear coin(actually brass) in the rizer. I haven't seen many of these lately.

For a right-handed shooter. The bow is in remarkable condition for its age and has been gently used. The rizer is made from an exotic wood- sorry the photos don't capture the real beauty of the wood. It appears to be either Pao Ferro.

Or possibly Brazilian Rosewood. I'm not an expert on wood however a local dealer had looked at the bow and mentioned these two types of wood. The limbs appear to be made of birch or maple. Comes with the dacron string, and otter fur silencers.

Also inluded is a suede end cap to protect the lower limb- very practical. String is still in good condition but may need to be replaced before next deer season. The bow is a great shooter with a smooth draw. Draw weight is 55# at 28' draw. This bow is capable of taking any large game in North America.

With no limb twist or shooting defects. The bow has Forest Green glass both sides with a shiny nice original varnish finish. No stress marks or dings and very good. There are white glass overlays on the tip fronts and the tips are fine.

I really don't think this bow has ever been used. Especially since it still has the original orange sticker on it. There was another sticker that has been removed long ago and left a little residue that I will leave for the new owner to remove.

Look good, the limbs looks straight and I could find no holes anywhere on it, the string looks good. The bow appears to be in nice condition, there are some scratches and scuffs from use and a small split between the wood and the lamination near the bottom tip on one end, please see the last two photos. It looks as if it's been there for years and it is my unprofessional opinion that it will not effect use.
