The GMPs should be considered as a list of tools and should be implemented based on the site conditions and stormwater management needs to comply with Clean Water Act, post-construction stormwater water quality and quantity requirements.

Design Manual The MSD Design Manual is a guide for the planning and design of stormwater systems, flood protection works, sanitary sewers, erosion control structures, small sanitary pump stations, small wastewater treatment plants and associated activities MSD. The Design Manual identifies a single set of standards, submittal requirements and approval procedures to be used in the planning and design of projects within the MSD service area. The Design Manual is not intended to serve as a step-by-step design methodology nor can the Design Manual address every situation, which may arise.
